She is the amazing author of romance and fairy tales with a twist. She weaves tales of horror, science fiction and fantasy. Lucy can tell a tale like no one's business and today I am honored to help celebrate her latest release MENU OF DEATH, a Collection of Short Stories with an interview and a giveaway!
A seven course meal of horror served with a relish of suspense.
Seven short stories and one vignette that show us darkness hidden under the veneer of humanity.
These stories are about wishes, obsessions, and cravings to be sated.
What would you do to obtain your darkest desires?
Let us now begin with our interview. We decided to do this interview a little bit differently than most interviews and get right into the nitty gritty. I promise, you're going to love it!!
Have you ever pointed a gun at someone?
Yes, I have and it was a very scary thing to do.
Oh? Have you ever shot a gun?
Yes, I have, but not at the person I pointed it at. I just shot at a range. Did you know shooting is a lot more difficult than they make it seem in Hollywood movies?
Yes, I knew that but it is oh so exhilarating when you hit your target! Have you ever done something you told yourself you wouldn't?
Hahaha, you really want to know everything, don't you?
But to answer your question, yes. What it is I won't tell you.
Aw! That's not fun, but I accept your response. Now then, have you ever had a close brush with death ... your own?
Yes, that was even more scary than pointing a gun at someone. And you know what? It made me realise that there has to be more than just this life. I now am fully convinced our soul lives on after our body ends.
You'll probably roll your eyes when I tell you this, but I will never-the-less. I once nearly died and at one point I saw myself on the bed, motionless. I floated there, above me, and knew it was either go back to my body or leave myself and that would be the end of it. Suffice to say, I went back. But it was creepy and something I'll never forget.
No, my friend, I'm not rolling my eyes. I too believe that our soul lives on after our body dies and I do believe you experienced having to make a choice to let go or continue on in this plain. I, for one am glad you chose to return.
Which brings me to this question: Have you ever seen someone die?
Yes, and that was both very unsettling and beautiful, because that person was in a lot of pain and his death was a relief.
The end of suffering is always a good thing, no matter how painful for those left behind. Have you ever played with a Ouija board?
Oh, no! I don't play around with things that go bump. Eeeps! What if I end up being haunted?
LOL! Ok! We'll leave that one alone then and change the subject. Have you ever broken a bone?
Yes, more than one, not a story for the weak of heart, so I won't tell it here. :-)
Thank you for sparing us the details :) Have you ever been taken by ambulance to a hospital?
Screaming sirens and all and barely in time.
What about handcuffs? Have you ever been in handcuffs?
More than once, but all voluntarily. :-)
Al-righty now! I think we'll end the interview here before I'm tempted to go down a wrong turn! Thanks so much for allowing me to participate in this party! Much success to you on your release!
